Radeon ProRender is an easy to use, physically accurate renderer you can use to render anything from nature to mecha to archviz. We’re pretty excited to be able to share this amazing renderer with you, and even though it’s still very much in beta, we hope you’ll like it as much as we do!

The Radeon ProRender plugin is fully integrated into Maya; it supports real-time changes to the scene and built in rendering information. It supports the Maya lights, materials, and textures and renders your geometry accurately. Radeon ProRender also comes with a library of materials to get you started.

Runs on both Windows and Linux (CentOS).

Hardware & Support Information

  • Supporting Autodesk Maya® 2016, 2016.5 or 2017 (Update 2+).
  • Operating System: A PC with Windows® 7, Windows® 8, Windows® 8.1 or Windows® 10 installed; or a Mac OS X with an AMD card.
  • Operating System: Linux OS - CentOS 6.5. Official Maya supported version. Please see User Docs for more detailed install instructions.
  • Operating System: Linux OS - CentOS 6.8. Maya is not officially supported for 6.8 but should still be compatible.
  • Hardware Support: Runs on both GPUs and CPUs. OpenCL™ 1.2 required for GPUs. AMD cards are however recommended. For non AMD OpenCL 1.2 cards, Windows 10 is required with the latest drivers.
  • For a system report and to find out if your hardware supports OpenCL™ 1.2, run GPU-CAP-Viewer.
  • Recommended Hardware: AMD FirePro™ W or S series or Radeon™ graphics card of the “Southern Islands” generation or beyond. Examples: FirePro™ W9100, W8100, W7100 GPUs; Radeon™ 7950 GPU, Radeon™ 7970 GPU, Radeon™ R280 GPU, Radeon™ R290X GPU, etc.
  • At the time of writing, earlier versions of Autodesk® Maya® to 2016 are not supported so it is important that you have the latest version of Autodesk® Maya® 2016 SP3+ or Autodesk® Maya® 2017 to ensure compatible operation of the Radeon ProRender plug-in.
